I also finished Running with Scissors which I knew would be great, knew I would love. I didn’t find it emotionally exhaustive the way The Glass Castle was. The latter ripped me to shreds. The former made me laugh out loud more than once but never come close to shedding a tear. I think I’d like my memoir to fall somewhere in between.
